Lorien Brooks and Sarah Granum, two Central High School science teachers, have both received $500.00 dollar mini grants from the Ash Creek Water control District. They have chosen to combine in a partnership the two grants to purchase a set of CPO Streamside Tables. Their students will study the impact of human activity on Ash Creek.The Streamside Tables will then help the students recreate the issues that arise and model possible solutions to remedy the detrimental activity
Jay Glasmann a Talmadge Middle School Science and Geography instructor, received a $500.00 mini grant from the Ash Creek Water Control District He will purchase a Computer monitored Solar Powered Weather Station. The weather station will record and connect temperature, rainfall and wind speeds with current water levels. This will allow students to learn about their own streamside and compare it to global climate zones.
