The District has purchased 100 Havahart traps to control Nutria. We allow 5 traps for district residents, or 2 traps for general county residents. You must have a county address to get traps.
The traps are available at Independence Nursery and Water Garden, 1720 Monmouth St., Independence, OR. Please call Ed ahead of time to schedule a pick up at (503) 838-3522.
Please keep track of your success rate as we need statistics to determine the scope of the Nutria problem.
Invasive Weed Control:
We spray herbicide yearly to control Japanese Knotweed and Reed Canary Grass.
